From LA to Arizona to Texas…I found my way to the greatest city in the world, and I have to say, it was everything I thought it would be. And everything I didn’t. Epic New York adventure may sound cliche, but it describes my experience exactly.
It started the moment I set foot in the city. I had taken the train from the airport to Jamaica to meet a friend in the subway, and OMG. I had been told what to expect. I’ve heard the stories. I’ve seen the movies. What I didn’t expect was the cold and the smell assaulting my senses. I was stunned — and not in a good way.
That first night, the city welcomed me in all its glory.
A guy smoking weed in the subway and coming up to the girls sitting in front of us, mumbling something I couldn’t quite hear. I was impressed at how cool the girls were; how they handled it.
The train we got on somehow stopped its regular service so we had to switch. And got a tad lost.
Did I mention the smell?
Sometime past midnight, we finally found our way to Grand Central, where I made a beeline for the hotdog stand the moment I caught a glimpse of it.
No words needed, yeah?
The best hotdog I’ve ever had.
New York did redeem itself in the weeks to follow.
I developed a love-hate relationship with it, especially Times Square, which is more dislike, really. It had so much to offer — shows, landmarks, shopping, people watching…
And the bagels…oh, the bagels…
I’ve got to tell you — I’d kill for these. And the shop was only a few minutes away from my friend’s place (by foot).
The cold, though. I suffered from the cold, though toward the end, I think I built up a bit of a tolerance. I did love dressing up for the weather!
Thanks to the temperature getting colder and colder, I had the “excuse” to do one of my favorite things — online shopping. That’s one advantage of being in the city, buying online is so fast and convenient.
If you want to buy vape juice online, no problemo. Sidenote: this post is all about NYC, but if you vape and you’re on the West Coast (which I hope to be soon again), then check out West Coast Vape Supply. They have quite a good selection, and you’ll find something to suit your taste for sure.
If you want to order Chinese, you’re all set.
Pizza? How about one slice for a dollar? I’m talking about a huge slice here. New York pizza, ya know?
And there’s more. LOTS more. Which I shall continue in posts to come.
Epic New York adventure? Heck, yes. And that’s just a taste.
