A little whining, with a hint of appreciation underneath.
The past few days have been really cold. The coldest weather I’ve ever experienced. And this girl who is a wannabe beach bum was (is) a fish out of water.
The difference being there is oxygen enough to breathe and no need for gills, but the temperature way too cold for anything to function properly.
Welcome to Texas. What I now call the state of arctic freeze.
When I left New York in December, I was whining about the cold, too. Though, to be honest, I miss it now and then. The dressing up mostly. 😉
I distinctly remember arriving in Texas and sweating like a pig.
That seemed like eons ago when I woke up to this.
The camera couldn’t quite capture it, but those branches and twigs are covered in ice.
Here’s a better look.
Having only experienced heat and rain pretty much all my life, the cold felt like death.
But in spite of that, I couldn’t help but gaze at this…beautiful in its own way, don’t you think?
Oh, and mini icicles, too.
Thank goodness the freeze is over and it wasn’t as bad as last year’s storm. It’s still much colder than I am used to, but high 30s I can now manage. And
I hope you’re staying warm (or cool) where you are.
